The attic of the lost there, in the mind and dreams, where is possible to recover the hopes and the expectations, where what you want is what you can and everything becomes possible, where fantasy and creativity are not strangled from the rhythms of a phrenetic life and time flows slowly, where the mind flyes free with no restrictions, where finally one is free of being and can refuge in and take a breath.

Royal Persian Blossom design - crewel embroidery

Have been thinking on this design from Talliaferro for long time because the colour range used in the model was not fully near to my own taste so finally decided to make some changes.
So the greys are now warm browns, the dull blues are here a more green toned blues and the yellows are still the same of the model.
In the making of long and short stitch as soft shading, have also added and extra shade to the blues and browns to achieve a better and smoother colour transition.
Here are my progresses so far...hope you like it !

  1. Your colours are beautiful! I really love the stem colour. Such a pretty design p, as all of theirs are! Yours will be stunning as always once finished!

  2. Are we going to hear from you again?

    1. Surely Jacqueline, I now I have been silent recently. I'm working on easy projects (Chatelaine cross stitch and some canvas work) as needed some easy embroidery after a difficult period of my life, a kind of downgrade respect to what I was used to work on; this made me think that maybe it was not so interesting to post about. Thank you for writing, hugs !

  3. I have read your article and this is really impressive for new readers and this is such beneficial blog for developing knowledge about embroideries techniques.
